Favourite Autumn Lipsticks
So, it's now September which means one thing...Autumn! I love everything about the Autumn months, cosy jumpers, chunky boots, dark nights, the countdown to Christmas...need I say more? One of my favourite things though is that once it hits September, it's acceptable to start getting all the dark lipsticks out of hiding. Eek!I'm a big lover of dark, berry lips, so here are a few of my go to Autumn/Winter lipsticks;
1. Revlon Lip Butter - Raspberry Pie
I love this lipstick! It's a great all year round lipstick for me, its so easy to wear in the summer as its quite sheer when first applied but once you start building up the colour it goes into this lovely berry shade. The only downfall with this lipstick is that after a while it goes really sticky on the lips, which for me, isn't great.
2. M.A.C - Twig
This is by far one of my favourite ever lipsticks. I bought it before Christmas (I think?) and I have probably worn it most days since then. It's a lovely redy/brown lipstick which I think is absolutely perfect for Autumn. It's a really creamy texture and for me I hardly have to re-apply it throughout the day.
3. Estée Lauder x Kendall Jenner - Restless
This is a new purchase for me and what can I say...it's stunning! I've been looking at this lipstick for ages and debating on whether to get it or not, but seeing how lovely it looked on other bloggers, I couldn't resist it any longer! It's a pure matte lipstick described as 'part poppy, part orange crush', for me I see it as a orange based red tone which I love. I wore this when I went out for food the other day with my boyfriend and I was SO impressed with its staying power. I'm always sceptical about buying neon/bright lipsticks as I have quite bright blue eyes but I actually loved the clash of my eye colour and this lipstick. It's not exactly a 'winter' lipstick but I think it would look great for christmas and halloween parties. LOVE it!
4. M.A.C - Hot Tahiti
Okay so this is another red lipstick but it's more of a dark toned red than Restless and it's quite sheer too. I wear this alone if I want a subtle wash of colour on my lips or if I want more colour pay off I wear it over a lip liner. I really like this lipstick, it feels really hydrating on the lips and it's not too in your face, the only negative about this lipstick is that the colour doesn't really last long when you wear it alone.
5. M.A.C - Rebel
This is always my go-to Autumn/winter lipstick. Its a lovely pink based purple colour and I think it looks absolutely gorgeous on any skin tone. I think I wore this lipstick every day for a week at my old job and I had so many compliments off customers saying how much they loved the colour of it. Only downfall: it stains the lips!
6. M.A.C - Hang Up
My Dad actually bought me this one last year when he went on holiday and I absolutely love it. It's a deep vampy red (which doesn't really show in the picture) and it looks incredible with pale skin, chiselled cheek bones and a killer hilight. Unfortunately this lipstick bleeds so bad into the little lines around my mouth so I think I need to get a lip liner to prevent it happening but I haven't gotten around to getting one yet! Oopsy.
7. M.A.C - Cyber
Last but not least is MAC.S Cyber lipstick. This is just insane, I was really nervous buying this lipstick as it's the darkest one I own but oh my, I'm so glad I bought it. I would describe it as an almost black purple which is a great colour for winter. It looks so lovely with a simple outfit and makeup look.
So there you have it, my 7 favourite Autumn/Winter lipsticks. I'm sure I'll be adding more to my collection this year!
