Estée Lauder Double Wear Maximum Cover Foundation
Estée Lauder are famous for their Double Wear foundation and while I was having a mooch on Feel Unique I came across the Double Wear foundation line. After reading reviews on the whole line which consists of Double Wear Light, Double Wear and Double Wear Maximum Cover, I decided to go for the maximum cover foundation, I wanted a foundation I could wear on special occasions that would make my skin look flawless and cover all my freckles which I hate. After using this foundation a few times I have to say I'm really impressed.
The foundation comes in a squeezable tube which I think is a great idea. So many other full coverage foundations like MAC Studio Fix come in a glass bottles which makes it so hard to get the product out, especially if they have no pump on the bottle!
Estée Lauder have described this as a 'camouflage' foundation and I have to agree. Although it's full coverage and thick, it has a creamy consistency but goes on the skin like a mousse and blends so easily. It completely covered my freckles and a few blemishes I had and felt really light on my skin. I usually blend my foundations in with a damp beauty blender but that doesn't work very well with this foundation so I would definitely recommend using a buffing brush, I felt this worked best at blending it out.
The only thing I can complain about with this foundation is the colour range. There is currently only 8 colours in the range which I think is pretty poor. The lightest colour is 03 Creamy Vanilla which is the one I have, but I still find it a little too dark and yellowy for my skin tone. Overall I love this foundation and would recommend it to anyone who wants a full coverage foundation without it feeling heavy and cakey on the skin.
